However, unlike other Villars ski schools, we are happy to arrange to meet you anywhere in the Les Diablerets Massif.

Beginners skiing in Villars
There are some lovely beginner runs in Villars and it’s a good place to learn to ski. For complete beginners, your journey will start at the beginner's zone in Bretaye, which is best accessed via the train from Villars. Once we have helped to get your skiing in control, you can enjoy the great green and blue beginner slopes that loop around Villars, which will help build your confidence.
Intermediate skiers in Villars
For the intermediate skier, Villars is something of a paradise with lots of easy blue and red tree-lined runs. From some slightly more challenging skiing, skiers should head over to Gryon where the slopes are somewhat steeper. For those with the time, the ski area is linked over to Les Diablerets by way of a couple of bus links, and it’s worth starting early to go over to the other side and experience a different side of the area that most people don’t see. The navigation to get there is a little tricky so take a piste map and see if you can get up to Glacier 3000. If you’re going to go to Glacier 3000 be aware that this is a supplement on your ski pass. They will usually ask you if you want this access when you buy. The kilometers and diversity of the pistes is why we wanted to run a swiss ski school in Villars. It is the perfect place to learn and develop as a skier.
Flexible ski school meeting points in Villars
The main SnowPros meeting point is at the bottom of the Roc d’Orsay télécabine, but as we know all of our clients have different needs ski at different levels, we are flexible on where we can meet you. You don't need to spend the first part of the lesson in a cable car. We can meet you at the top ready to ski and if time allows we can end the lesson in a specific location. We usually meet our beginners at the Hotel du Lac in Bretaye or at the train station at Bretaye. Our flexibility also means that we can meet you in any of the resorts in the Diablerets Massif, such as Gryon or Ormont-Dessus.
Eating Recommendations
Like all Swiss instructors working for ski schools in Villars, we like to start our day in Les Saveurs des Alpes a little hidden cafe just opposite the Roc d’Orsay lift. It is the best place to enjoy a morning pain au chocolate and coffee. On the mountain, there are many options for lunching but it is the excellent food and welcoming service from James and Victoria at Hotel du Lac in Bretaye. The house burger is fantastic!
Apres-ski in Villars
Despite its sleepy appearance, there are some decent places to grab a drink at the end of your day on the mountains. If you want a pit stop close to the slopes, you should drop into L'Arrive bar located just off the blue runs that bring you down the mountain. Other spots to try are Le Blues Bar near the railway station, and in the center of the town, you will discover Charlie's bar.
Where to stay in Villars
Because Villars is more of a town you have a huge selection of hotels and apartments to choose from, however, we will always recommend the Hotel du Lac because you wake up on the pistes, which means you don't have to walk to the lifts in the morning.

To get to our ski school in Villars from the main urban areas around Lake Geneva in Switzerland, you need to pick up the A9 that runs along the north of the lake. Once the water is in your rearview mirror, stay on the road for 20 minutes and then jump off at junction 17 onto route 11 and follow signs to Villars.
There is plenty of free parking at the bottom of the Roc d'Orsay telecabine close to our Villars ski school meeting point.
