Skiing with ADHD

ADHD can bring unique challenges to learning, from difficulties with focus to moments of impulsivity or frustration. Our instructors adapt lessons to make skiing a positive, engaging experience by:

  • Keeping instructions short, clear, and visual.

  • Using demonstrations and step-by-step progression.

  • Reinforcing the positives and celebrating small wins.

  • Offering choices that keep learners engaged and motivated.

  • Staying calm and patient in moments of frustration.

With this approach, skiing becomes more than just a sport — it’s a way to build confidence, resilience, and joy.

Skiing with Autism

Autism presents in many different ways, and we take time to understand each skier’s specific needs before the lesson begins. Our adaptive coaching for Autism focuses on:

  • Building trust and safety with consistent routines.

  • Using clear, predictable communication.

  • Providing 1:1 lessons to support progression at each skier’s pace.

  • Creating an inclusive environment that reduces anxiety.

  • Matching instruction to the individual, whether it’s a child or an adult.

This tailored approach allows learners with Autism to develop skills, confidence, and independence on the snow while enjoying the shared experience of skiing with family and friends.

Skiing with Down Syndrome

Down syndrome is associated with a wide spectrum of abilities and learning styles. Our instructors adapt lessons to ensure a fun, safe, and positive experience, supporting each skier's unique pace and needs by:

  • Building Core Strength: Focusing on exercises for balance and core stability.

  • Sequential Steps: Breaking down skills into clear, manageable sequences.

  • Using Visuals: Relying on demonstrations and hands-on guidance.

  • Allowing Repetition: Providing time and practice for skill mastery.

  • Positive Communication: Using simple, encouraging language to build trust.

This individualised approach helps learners with Down syndrome develop confidence, independence, and strong motor skills while experiencing the joy of snowsports.
